2 Brown Onions (big)-
2 Tomatoes
½ tbsp ginger paste
½ tbsp garlic paste
½ tbsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp chilli powder
1 ½ tbsp garam masala powder
1 ½ tbsp briyani powder
Cooking Oil
Salt
Coriander leaves (garnishing)-chopped
Cara-cara
First soak the chick peas or lima beans overnight. For quick cooking, get the one in cans which is ready to cook.
Then, boil them till they are very soft.
Strain and put them aside.
Cut the onions into thin slices and chop the tomatoes. Heat the oil and fry the onions till it turns into golden brown. Then, add the ginger and garlic paste. Stir for 1 or 2 minutes. Add the chopped tomatoes and stir till it turns to paste. Now, add the turmeric powder, chilli powder, garam masala powder and briyani powder. Stir them for some time and add little water. Keep on stiring and after 2 minutes add the cooked lima beans/chick peas and stir. Add just a little more water and salt. Let it cook for around 4 minutes till it becomes like thick 'sambal'.
